List Links Feature with SSL and WebSnapr

A page with a List/Links feature with WebSnapr Link Preview configured and enabled does not render the previews when the page request is via https. The new SSL behavior in MP 2.3.7.6 surfaced this issue. The previews load as expected over a non https request.

Re: List Links Feature with SSL and WebSnapr

Hi Bill,

I rue the day I  ever integrated websnapr into mojoPortal and I'd really like to remove it completely. This problem may be the final straw because they don't support ssl or at least not for free if they do support it at all.

If you try to request the script using ssl it cannot be retrieved, you can try it yourself by pasting the url in the browser:

https://www.websnapr.com/js/websnapr.js

it only works with http.

I almost removed it before, you can see my previous rant about it here.

The question for me is, is it going to cause an uproar from mojoPortal users if I do just remove it?

Best,

Joe

Re: List Links Feature with SSL and WebSnapr

Thanks Joe. Not a problem. WebSnapr actually was not a great expereince overall back in the summer and I had moved away from it but still had it in the BVTs run prior to throwing the switch in production. So I was just reporting the regression but it does not impact me. Thanks for a great release!
