Downgrading SQL Server to SQLCE4.0

Hi Joe,

I appreciate your work and I got really puzzled over your immediate release of mojoportal support to sqlce4.0. Hats off to you.

I followed the procedure in the blog http://erikej.blogspot.com/2010/02/how-to-use-exportsqlce-to-migrate-from.html to convert my sql server to sqlce4.0. It worked really great. All the tables and data was imported. I noticed a couple of issue from mojoportal

1. Only the home menu was visible, the code didn't fetch other menus and sub menuse from mp_pages

2. When I edit settings of a page and then submit, it throws sql query parse error

Regards,

Syed

Re: Downgrading SQL Server to SQLCE4.0

Hi Syed,

Sorry that downgrading from SQL Server did not work for you, but I don't consider that a bug unless the same error happens in a SQL CE database created by mojoPortal, ie a clean installation.

I cannot be sure that the downgrade tool produced a correct result. The database is in an unknown condition as far as I know.

If you can produce a syntax error using a clean installation then post the details of the error from the mojoportal error log and provide steps to produce the error.

Best,

Joe
