Using images in my blog with livewriter

A question. I've got my test site up and running, and also have been able to publish blogs from livewriter. Now I would like the ability to compose a blog in livewrtiter, using in-line pictures, and then post to my blog...is that possible?

I can layout the content just fine in livewriter, I added the ftp account, but whenever I publish, the picture just ends up being a link on the post, instead of displayed on the post? Is that the only way it works? or have I set it up incorrectly?

Great product so far...thanks.

Re: Using images in my blog with livewriter

I have been using the livewriter for a long time and it works good to me. I can upload pictures without any problem. Have you configured your livewriter following this document:

Re: Using images in my blog with livewriter

Yes, I did, but the first time I tried to post pictures it told me "the blog does not support picture publishing", do you want to configure ftp for picture publishing?", so I did, and it works except the pictures show up as links instead of embedded in my post.

So two questions:

1. Should I have to use ftp for picture publishing? or should it have worked anyway?

2. If I do have to use FTP, what are the correct directories to use? I pointed the files to the 'media' directory, maybe I picked the wronf sub-dir to use and that is why they show up as links.

Thanks!

Re: Using images in my blog with livewriter

It should just work. FTP is not going to work unless maybe you have configured an FTP site pointing to that folder. mojoPortal is not an FTP server.

If it fails it is probably a permission issue as it wants to create sub folders beneath /Data/Sites/[SiteID]/

I would look in the mojo log after a failure.

Hope it helps,

Joe

Re: Using images in my blog with livewriter

I suspect you are right about it being permissions - I am running on the rackspacecloud and I had to manually create a bunch of directories to get the install to work (from another post here on your site).

Do you know the names of the directories that need to be created? I would like to try and create them manually to see if it solves the problem.
