FileDialog.aspx (upload image) using Folder Mappings (permissions issue)

Hi Joe,

I hope all is well with you this holiday season!

I'm getting a permissions issue when using "Folder Mappings" with the new(er) version of the "Dialog/FileDialog.aspx?ed=fck&type=image" file (I have been getting this error since the new interface/crop image features were added).

Current Version: 2.3.2.9 MSSQL  (Using Folder Mappings)

I'm getting the following error when I try to "Create Folder" or "Upload an Image" in any "Child" sites using this FileDialog tool...

"Sorry, you are not allowed to view this content. If you have questions about your permissions, please contact a site administrator"

I do not get the error when using the tool on the root site.  Any help you can provide is appreciated.

Thanks!

Mike

Re: FileDialog.aspx (upload image) using Folder Mappings (permissions issue)

Hi,

I believe some issues like this were fixed in version 2.3.3.0. Please upgrade and see if the problem persists.

Best,

Joe

Re: FileDialog.aspx (upload image) using Folder Mappings (permissions issue)

Joe,

I upgraded to 2.3.3.0 and the image upload issue is still there.  Please let me know if/when you can fix this bug.  I'm pretty sure it has to do with site relativity (child sites not working but the host site is)... this is very similar to other issues I've reported in the past due to using Folder Mappings instead of Host Names.

Thanks and Happy Holidays!

Mike

Re: FileDialog.aspx (upload image) using Folder Mappings (permissions issue)

Hi Mike,

I am not able to produce this issue on my local copy but I am using a newer build and some work on folder issues has been done since the 2.3.3.0 release so it's possible this is already fixed.

I've uploaded a build to our Novell Forge download page mojoportal-mssql-deploymentfiles-20091211.zip

Can you try upgrading to this build and let me know if it solves the problem?

Thanks,

Joe

Re: FileDialog.aspx (upload image) using Folder Mappings (permissions issue)

Hi Joe,

I deployed the source as you suggested and that did not fix the problem.  Secondly, I just installed MSSQL 2.3.3.2 (latest release) and the problem still remains.

Just to restate the issue...

"Cannot upload files or create folders in child sites when using folder mappings (instead of host names)"

1. Version MSSQL 2.3.3.2

2. Editor: FCKEditor

3. Page: Dialog/FileDialog.aspx?ed=fck&type=image

4. Trying to upload to: /Data/Sites/5/Graphics/

5. Error Message: "Sorry, you are not allowed to view this content. If you have questions about your permissions, please contact a site administrator."

The above folder structed started out like this:

         /Data/Sites/5/

Then after the error message looked like this and the folder tree disappeared:

        /Data

Thanks Joe and Happy Holidays!

Re: FileDialog.aspx (upload image) using Folder Mappings (permissions issue)

Hi Mike,

I'm not sure why I was not able to produce this issue before, I am able to produce the problem now, so I am looking into it. I will post again after I figure out the problem.

Best,

Joe

Re: FileDialog.aspx (upload image) using Folder Mappings (permissions issue)

I appreciate the help Joe.  I'll toss you a beer for this one for sure :)

What sucks right now is deploying mojoportal to my hosting company (DiscountASP).  I usually never have any problems and it takes maybe an hour to FTP the files up.  But the last couple days have taken me almost 24 hours to get mojoportal deployed (problems with connections for some reason, I have a ticket in with them).  I can't wait until I can use MSDeploy so I can send the package up in 1 zip file and explode it there.  That will save so much time especially since mojoportal consists of so many hundreds of files.

Re: FileDialog.aspx (upload image) using Folder Mappings (permissions issue)

Thanks for resolving this issue Joe.  The new DLL you sent me today fixed the problem I was having.  I'm assuming this fix will also be available in source code as well as in the next release for everyone else.

Enjoy the beers and have a safe & happy holiday.

Cheers...

Re: FileDialog.aspx (upload image) using Folder Mappings (permissions issue)

Hi Mike,

I have patched the current 2.3.3.2 deployment packages with this fix. Anyone else who previously downloaded version 2.3.3.2 and encounters this issue can just download again and replace the mojoPortal.Web.dll in the /bin folder

I have also fixed and patched the issue you mentioned by email about the forums page not working correctly in folder sites. To fix this, just download 2.3.3.2 again and replace the /Forums/ForumModule.ascx file

Best,

Joe

Re: FileDialog.aspx (upload image) using Folder Mappings (permissions issue)

Thanks Joe!  I already downloaded it and patched my sites.  I tested the foums fix with success!  Thanks for your help.  I'll try to do a little more testing of other features over the next week and will let you know if I find anything else in this latest build.

Happy Holidays!

Mike
