document upload errors on mojoportal.monoforge.com

Thanks for providing access to try mojoPortal on monoforge.  Very impressed so far.

Tried adding a page with a documents module then uploading a good size pdf:

  • Upload went fine when "upload to server" was checked
  • Subsequent attemp to download document produced 404 error
  • Attempt to upload same doc when "upload to database" is checked produced error message to the effect that the document was too big for MySQL (probably not a mojoPortal problem)

Thanks again.

Yeah, The Documents module is crap. Its the last bit of IBuySpy legacy code in the site. I'm working on a replacement that will be much better and plan to ditch the old one in my next release.  I really wish I had ditched it before this release.

Re: document upload errors on mojoportal.monoforge.com

I see the cause of the 404, if you mouse over the link it has Data/Data in the url where it should just have 1 Data.  The new module, will be a Shared Files module and will look a lot like the  File Manager but folders and files will be virtual and managed securely on the server. The File Manager is really too much of a security risk to allow users other than Admin to have access to it in a real site.

Re: document upload errors on mojoportal.monoforge.com

Hi Joe,

Is there any module to search Office documents and/or pdf.  There may already be a module in your release but I am having too much fun with the skins.  Thanks for this recent release.  Thanks a bunch!

Re: document upload errors on mojoportal.monoforge.com

Why do you post your question on a very old and unrelated thread? You should have started a new thread.

No there is currently no indexing of .pdf files in mojoportal, but if you google for lucene.net and research it you will find some related projects with server components for indexing them.
