gear icon still aviable for users

Hi Joe,

I have a problem (or may be it's a issue... but I dont Know..)

I have users in a role (for example authenticated users) who must be able to upload files (with Mojos standard shared files module) and upload photos (with the two standard mojos photo modules)

BUT THEY MUST NOT HAVE THE PRIVILEGE TO CHANGE THE MODULE

now I worked a lot to figure out the permission settings... but I can only differenciate between users who che only see the fotos or files (but not upload them) and those that can upload.. but those are still enabled with the gear icon so they can change or even delete the module !!

can you give me some tips ???

best regads, as usual

from Michele - rome - Italy

Re: gear icon still aviable for users

Hi Michele,

In the coming release (and already if you are making your own build from svn trunk), there is a new Permissions tab in Site Settings under the Security tab. There you can define roles not allowed to edit module settings. So users who have edit permission can edit but if in a role designated here they cannnot edit module settings.

In the previous releases it was a all or nothing thing, if you had edit permissiosn you could edit settings (except role permissions unless an admin).

You can see this on the demo.mojoportal.com site now.

Hope it helps,

Joe

Re: gear icon still aviable for users

Joe, you are a GREAT  !!! (as we use to say in Italy..)

but what does it mean "nd already if you are making your own build from svn trunk" ?? (I really have sometimes problems with my school english)

when do you suppose the new version will be aviable...  ? (I've already upgraded to the last one 2.3.1.3... but I think it's not the good one)

bye bye..

Michele
