Missing objects in 2-3-0-1-mssqlreleasefiles ?

OS: Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2
DB: SQL Server 2005 SP2
MP: 2-3-0-1

Hi Joe,
I have successfully upgraded two sites from 2-2-9-6 to 2-3-0-1 (and I'm testing the new features).
Then, I set up two new sites with the usual procedure, by copying the source directly from the same wwwroot folder of 2-3-0-1 releasefiles (\mojoPortal-2-3-0-1-mssqlreleasefiles\mssqlreleasefiles\wwwroot) to the <site> root.
After running /Setup/Default.aspx (no problem was reported) and logging in as admin@admin.com the resulting sites seem not working correctly.

Example:
I tried to edit the default HTML content module (welcome in Home page of default site)
The FCKeditor does not appear.
Browser (IE7) notifies the following error:
Line: 210
Position: 2
Error: Object expected
Code: 0
URL: <site>/ClientScript/fckeditor264/editor/fckeditor.html?InstanceName=ctl00_mainContent_edContentinnerEditor/Toolbar=Full

Clicking on gears icon for settings, Browser (IE7) notifies the following error:
Line: 446
Position: 1
Error: 'smartCombo' is undefined
Code: 0
URL: <site>/Admin/ModuleSettings.aspx?mid=0&pageid=0

After some tests, I would exclude problems in SQL and IIS setup of the new sites.
I suspect some object are missing after running /Setup/Default.aspx.
Cross-test: I copied the Library folders from the upgraded sites to the new site folders and even the new site seem to work now.

Am I doing something wrong ?
Thanks.
Diego.

Re: Missing objects in 2-3-0-1-mssqlreleasefiles ?

Hi Diego,

I cannot replicate the problem.

My best guess is something was not right with the file permissions, maybe it could not read some of the js files due to permissions and then when you copied them they got different permissions inherited from the copied version.

Setup does not touch any of the js files. All it does is run upgrade scripts, ensure feature settings are up top date from config files, and it copies skins from the /Data/skins folder to the /Data/Sites/1/skins folder if the folder does not exist.

Best,

Joe

Joe,

you are right!
I extracted the content of the zip on a development webserver an somehow some files have been deleted (antivirus !?).
Now everything is ok.

Thanks.
Diego

P.S. Meanwhile, I have completed the Italian Translation of version 2-3-0-1. Let me do some more tests and, hopefully by tomorrow, I will let you have the objects (and apply to the "Become A Consulting Partner" form).
