Updating page settings is painfully slow

When changing the "Roles that can view this page" settings, updates take an unusual amount of time. However, when modifying the "Roles that can edit this page" or "Roles that can create pages below this page", it's much quicker.

Re: Updating page settings is painfully slow

Its because when you change the view roles the search index has to be rebuilt for the page but this is not required for changing edit permissions. We store the current view roles in the search index along with the indexed content so that we can filter out results that the user is not in a view role for.

Best,

Joe
