Sending mail time out

I am unable to send mails from the site - I have tried with both contact form and custom made form with form wizard pro. But all mails are getting time out error. In web.config I have set "EnableSiteSettingsSmtpSettings" to true and entered my mail settings in admin. I have tried with both my own mail settings from my hosting provieder and with a gmail adress/server but I still get the same error.

I get this error in the log:

2014-05-14 11:22:29,534 ERROR 78.156.98.212 - da-DK - /kontakt - mojoPortal.Net.Email - error sending email to xx@yy.me from xxxx@yyyyyy.dk, will retry
System.Net.Mail.SmtpException: The operation has timed out.
   at System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient.Send(MailMessage message)
   at mojoPortal.Net.Email.Send(SmtpSettings smtpSettings, MailMessage message)

Any good ideas?
