Bulk image upload in FF & Chrome, not work in IE8-9

I tried searching the forum first, but most threads I found and read were for people who couldn't get it to work at all. My issue is it works in Firefox 17 and Chrome 23, and even in IE 10 on Win 8 virtual. But I can't get it to work on IE8 or 9, which users on XP and Win 7 respectively are stuck with (who I can't convince to move away to FF or Chrome).

What operating system? XP/IE8 and Win 7/IE9
What database platform? MS SQL 2008
What version of mojoPortal? Newest, 2.3.9.4 MSSQL
Steps to produce the problem, expected results, actual results:

Log in to website, go to a gallery page, click "Bulk Upload" link, click "Browse" button. I'm only able to click one file. I cannot CTRL or SHFT click to get multiple files selected. On the same computer using FF or Chrome I can get bulk upload to multi-select just fine. Other posts were about wrong file permissions, but if that was the case it wouldn't work in any browser. Some other posts were about needing full trust, but we're running medium trust web.config and user.config settings, and it's working in FF and Chrome.

Does anyone have any thoughts or experiences/fixes to share? (Other than IE stinks or don't use IE, that's a given =)

Thanks!
Spencer

Re: Bulk image upload in FF & Chrome, not work in IE8-9

I cannot promise it will work in all browsers, but it does require Flash so make sure the client machines have the Flash plugin.

Hope that helps,

Joe

Re: Bulk image upload in FF & Chrome, not work in IE8-9

Flash is installed, both to FF/Chrome and to IE. It's a must have for so many sites, that it's an auto install in our office. Thanks for the suggested check though. Maybe someone else will have seen or dealt with this. I do understand about not supporting all browsers; I say the same thing to clients asking about IE6 and IE7 still =)
