Possible bug when using Disqus with 2012 features enabled

Hi guys, I've searched the forums and can't find anything on this so apologies if it's already been covered and I'm just being blind.  It's been a long day!

Using latest mojoPortal from source repository, SQL Server 2012, Win 2008 server.

I've enabled Disqus on the blog of our new mojoPortal website (with the Disqus 2012 features checkbox ticked in Disqus settings).  If you try and login to Disqus in IE9, it appears to login but doesn't then show as logged in so you can't comment on a post under that account.  It does the same if you try and login using any of the existing account buttons, i.e. Disqus, Twitter, Google etc.   Chrome appears to work fine for all of them.

Have checked this out on the mojoPortal demo site, by quickly enabling Disqus as the comment system and entering my Disqus shortname in the settings and I get the same thing.

Have tried Disqus on other non mojoPortal sites in IE9, and the login bit works fine, so doesn't look like a problem with Disqus.

I noticed the mojoPortal blog uses Disqus, but with the 2012 features disabled.  It seems to work fine if you uncheck these - which I have now done for our site.  It would be nice to be able to use the newer version though.

Site is: http://www.gslsolutions.co.uk

Has anyone else come across this?  am I missing something blatantly obvious? or is the new version of Disqus not really ready to be used yet?

I'm happy sticking with the 2012 features turned off, as it works, but thought I'd mention it to see if anything does need updating in mojoPortal for it to work correctly, and if anyone has come across this before.

Thanks in advance.

Gavin

Re: Possible bug when using Disqus with 2012 features enabled

Hi Gavin,

I will look into this when I get a chance but as far as I know there isn't supposed to be any code changes required to switch to Disqus 2012.

I switched but ended up switching back because they don't yet support ssl in their 2012 version so it causes browser warnings. For now I recommend not to enable the 2012 version in Disqus.

Best,

Joe

Hi Joe, thanks.

I'll stick with the original Disqus version until I hear otherwise then.  It's working fine so not a problem.

Other than that we really like mojoPortal, you've done a great job with it.

Thanks

Gavin

Did you make sure that your DocType was set correctly? This probably is not an issue, but just wanting to make sure.

Re: Possible bug when using Disqus with 2012 features enabled

Hi Michael,

Should be set correctly, as it's HTML5 layout it's just:    <!DOCTYPE html>

Not sure if it's a problem or not, I might change temporarily to an HTML transitional doctype and theme and see if I get the same problem.

Gavin
