File Manager and Links Issue

Hello,

We've set up our mojoPortal site and are enjoying its benefits so far. However, recently a couple of our users uploaded their content into the wrong folders and then linked their pages to a bunch of the content in the folders. What I'm hoping to do is clean those folders up and put them where they belong, but I'm not sure if this is possible without breaking links? I did a test scenario in the File Manager and when I moved the files or folders, it broke the links to them on the appropriate pages. I know for example, in Dreamweaver when you change the name of a file or move it; it recreates the cache and re-directs the links. Is there any way to do this in mojoPortal? I really don't want to leave the files in the wrong place, but I don't want to have to go back through and re-link all of their content either. I appreciate the help!

Thanks

Re: File Manager and Links Issue

I don't know of any automated way to do this. We faced a somewhat similar situation awhile back when we had to reconfigure our sites to move all of our media files under the media folder for decentralized site maintenance (you can read about this in more detail in this thread.) I thought that perhaps I could come up with SQL scripts to do this, but our webmasters were able to get it all done without having to do that.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Jamie

Re: File Manager and Links Issue

Sorry for the late reply!  Thanks Jamie, I appreciate the info.  I'll look into the thread and see if I can locate an easy way to do it.  I'm glad to know though that someone else had the same issue and was able to get it done.

Thanks!
