Password Reset permissions

Are Administrators the only ones that can reset passwords?

I hate giving our helpdesk team Admin rights just so they can reset passwords for users if they call in at night.

Is there a way to grant this right to another group, like Role Administrators?

Re: Password Reset permissions

Create a role for your helpdesk and add that role to the "Roles that can manage users" option under Administration > Permissions.

If you have an older version of mojoPortal, that will be in Administration > Site Settings > Security (tab)> Permissions (tab)

You might also want to consider implementing Active Directory/LDAP authentication, if your network has the appropriate infrastructure.

Re: Password Reset permissions

You must have a version that over a year old because the "Roles that can manage users" option was added in March 2011. Upgrading isn't difficult and there have been a lot of new features added in the last year.

To find your version, go to Administration > System Information.
