Download PDF Documents

Hi,

I have a number of PDF document that members of my site must be able to download. On my ols site, I just stuck them into a download folder of the root and created a page with different links to them. What or where would be the best place to put these document and what is the best way of uploading these documents to the server. Is there an existing folder I can use for this purpose. Currently, I just ftp it onto the server. Is this the correct way of doing it or is there another way

Thanks and Regards

Elmo

Re: Download PDF Documents

Hi Hennadiy, Thanks for the reply. I will create a folder in the root for this purpose.

If you say its is better not to upload file, are you suggesting I continue using FTP

Re: Download PDF Documents

Hi,

You could upload the files to a folder under /Data/Sites/[SiteID] and then link to them from an Html content instance, the link toolbar item in th editor should let you browse to the files if you upload them under that folder.

That is fine if the files have no security requirements but if you want to protect the files and also have counts of th edownloads you could use the Shared Files feature, which allows you to upload the files directly from your web browser.

Hope that helps,

Joe
