Can a feature use a different database *ENGINE* than the installation

The documentation shows a way for a feature to use a different, self-contained database than the main installation. Would it be possible to install Mojoportal on MySQL but have a feature use a MS SQL database?

Re: Can a feature use a different database *ENGINE* than the installation

Of course, in your custom code you can do whatever you want including connect to a different database paltform as long as the database is accessible from the web server so you can connect to it. It just means your feature will need its own connection string and its own data access code.
