Links module filtering by tag/category?

Has anybody implemented a filtering mechanism for the Links Module?  (or is there an undocumented filtering capability?)  If not, this might be a feature request.

Could be a search "q" or Links would need to be tied-in to the category or tagging.

Two scenarios:

  1. Links module instance filtering (via Settings) by tag/category/q
  2. User-driven filtering by url  e.g., "tag=", "cat=", "q="
