Possible issue with international settings

I have a site for a client who has individual pages for each of their clients which they can only see their relevant page once they log in.

This authorised user page has a file share facility in it. This works for all their clients apart from one. This is a Japanese client, and they have a couple of issues.

Firstly they have an issue with uploading a file on the office computer, but OK on a home laptop. I suspect that this may be a security setting on the companies environment, however are their any ways you may suggest that this may be resolved out side of changing the companies security profile.

Second issue is that my client's client says that the "Add file button has disappeared and turned to Japanese button". I assume that this is pulling in profile setting from the PC or network. Do you know of any way to override this.

Actually these issues may be related in that some changes occur to the "Add File button" that prevent the file upload.

Any suggestions would be very helpful in placating my client.

Re: Possible issue with international settings

Hi,

If uploads are failing do to issues on the client machine or the client netwrok there is nothing that mojoPortal can do about that.

If you are not forcing a specific language, the it is adapting to the user's language preference according to their web browser settings. So if its changing the button label to Japanese most likely Japanese is configured as the preferred language in the browser settings.

We ship resource files for many languages but some of them are only partially complete so for missing keys it falls back to English. That is why only some labels and buttons may be in Japanese when the user browser language is Japanese, we only have a partial translation for Japanese, so only some buttons and labels will be shown in Japanese and the rest will fall back to English.

Hope that helps,

Joe

Re: Possible issue with international settings

Language has been forced as en-GB and I have tested this with my browser set as Japanese and has resolved the button issue.

My clients client is in the financial services area and hence may have stricter browser rules. I have therfor suggested that they speak to these IT support to look at the security levels for this site.

Many Many thanks for getting back on this.
