A Module from other page. How to get info?

For example we have a module which should get an info about a module on other page. It should get an info about other modules based on a module definition guide or a part of the module control path. It should know about page number which a module candidate is on and the module instance id(not definition). i.e. we should select a control from dropdown and make links inside redirecting to other page (mid, pageid). Does MP has the ready methods or it's required to write own DAL?

No matter, I've already written a custom universal code which allows this all in 1 DB call.
