Body covering header+menu when using artisteer-30headermenu

Not having a good day today! lol

I downloaded the latest version of mojoportal this morning (2.3.6.7) and used the artisteer-30headermenu skin as a base then copied in the skin exported from artisteer.

It should look like this - http://dev2.jrcwebsolutions.co.uk/bcc_v4.1/index.html but the art-sheet-body is slipping up and covering the header and the menu so it looks like this http://dev2.jrcwebsolutions.co.uk/ and I can't for the life in me see why when it works fine with the original design - not sure if it is anything to do with break/transparency between the header and the body where the menu sits ...... ?? It also looks like the header might not line up with the body correctly.... I've also uploaded the whole export from artisteer to http://dev2.jrcwebsolutions.co.uk/bcc_v4.zip in case that helps.

Think its time for a cuppa and a quick break then I'll get back to working my way through to see if I can find the problem. frown

Re: Body covering header+menu when using artisteer-30headermenu

Hi Andy,

What happened is that in Artisteer 3 they now have more variation in the outer markup and we don't currently have included skins with each possible variation so in some cases it requires moving things around in the layout.master file. You can see the difference when you view the source of the exported page and compare it to viewing the source of your site. In the exported html the heading and nav are outside of the sheet whereas in your layout.master they are inside the sheet. So you just need to compare that outer skeleton of markup from the html file and adjust the skeleton markup in your layout.master to more closely match it.

At some point I'd like to figure out all of the possible variations and try to add more starter skins that match them, but even then part of the problem would be figuring out which one to use would still require looking at the exported markup.

Hope that helps,

Joe

Re: Body covering header+menu when using artisteer-30headermenu

Hi Andy

Fixed.  Here is a link to a zip file with the fix.  All changes were in the layout.master.  please compare your layout.master to mine so you'll see what I did.

I would ask a favor in return.wink

Please visit my new mojoPortal Website (Sketch2Plan) and click the +1 in the footer at the bottom.
Now a days a new Website needs all the help it can get.

Re: Body covering header+menu when using artisteer-30headermenu

Thanks Joe and a massive thanks to Rick - that's awesome and between that and fixing another niggle that had been beating me all morning my day just got a whole lot better smiley.  Joe I can understand the problem with the skins and if I get to the bottom of it in my own mind I'll gladly write some stuff that can go in the docs under some kind of 'common issues' header in the skins section?

I'll compare my layout.master to your's Rick with the compare feature in Notepad++ and it should get me somewhere near for the next time around.  I've +1'nd on your site and thanks once again for your help.
