Displaying parts of a blog on home page

Anyone know of a way to display parts of blog?

I have a blog with several articles on it, I would like to display in different sections on the front page of the site a couple of components of the blog.

1) I would like to be able to just display the tag cloud for that forum

2) Also to display a list of just the titles for the most recent or most viewed blog entries

Any thoughts on an approach to achieve this?

Re: Displaying parts of a blog on home page

1. I don't have a solution for it but it could be done easily by custom development borrowing some code from the blog feature.

2. That could be done with feed manager, except for the part about most viewed as we don't have data about view stats for blog posts other than google analytics

Hope that helps,

Joe

Re: Displaying parts of a blog on home page

Fantastic,

1) will do, I haven't created a bespoke application yet on Mojoportal, however with previous development experience and your comprehensive tutorials that should be no issue

2) what a nice simple solution

Cheers

There's a wee article on the Arvixe blog about this along with some other useful MoJo posts.
