Could not sign in

Hello, I just installed and began to set up the web. But I could not sign in with username "admin@admin.com" and password "admin". Thanks for help.

Windows 7 64-bit. SQL Server 2008 R2. IIS7. Ver: 2.3.6.7

Re: Could not sign in

That is strange, the setup page should have created the user for you.

I would make sure you don't have anything preventing it from setting a cookie, authentication sets a cookie so if something blocks it like privacy guard type software it won't work.

Other than that you might try visiting the /Setup/Default.aspx page again or you might try looking in the mp_Users table in the database to make sure the user exists and confirm the password in the Pwd field is admin.

If none of that solves it I would delete all the files and try installing from scratch again.

Hope that helps,

Joe

Re: Could not sign in

Now it is okay not sure why? Then what is the next step? How to generate a machine key within the web site?

Re: Could not sign in

The documentation section of this site has a post installation checklist you should take a look at if you haven't already.

There is information on generating a machine key on this site and also in the Arvixe MojoPortal Blog which also has other posts from Rick on post installation items.

Creating the machine key is pretty straight forward. You can generate it through your MojoPortal site via the admin section then copy & paste it to your web.config file - all explained in the blog in detail.

Although when I created my first MP site it was only a local site and only for me to see what I could do with MP so I skipped the stuff on the post installation checklist and went straight from where you are now to editing the default HTML. Then next step was to add a blog to the home page, then a file sharing module, just to see how easy it would be (and it was very easy).

Once I'd done enough 'playing around' I started again with a new site & set up the machine key & email stuff etc.
