Trojan.Win32.Generic in mojoPortal.Web.dll ?

Hello.

I have "Kaspersky Anti-virus" began to find a virus in file mojoPortal.Web:

обнаружено: вирус HEUR:Trojan.Win32.Generic (модификация) файл: F:\ASP.NET\WebSite\bin\mojoPortal.Web.dll

I understand that most likely a false alarm. I added file to the exceptions.
But it may be worth Kaspersky write?

Re: Trojan.Win32.Generic in mojoPortal.Web.dll ?

Hi Igor,

Some viruses can inject themselves into other files that exist on disk, so if your machine got infected it could embed it into existing files. What I would do is download mojoportal from codeplex and see if you get the same result scanning the mojoPortal.Web.dll in the download. I would also compare the file size and modified date vs the copy that kapersky reports as infected. In the end it might be a good idea to send the file to them for analysis.

Best,

Joe

Re: Trojan.Win32.Generic in mojoPortal.Web.dll ?

Strangely, on 2 of my sites the same situation. On the one installed via Web Platform Installer, a different set manually.

DLL version 1.0.4001.14110.

There is a file with an older version 1.0.3848.12184 - Kaspersky silent. The new version 1.0.4218.12643 also silent.

In the evening I look for another home computer in the archive.

Home situation is similar. Found a distribution that contains this file: mojoportal-2-3-5-8-b-mssql-net40-deploymentfiles.zip
Wrote in Kaspersky' support on a false alarm.
