Help - Multiple installation based on Host Names

Hello

I checked documentation and a training video.
I setup Mojo on a shared hosting service with no problem at www.mysite.com.It runs perfectly.
I added a new site through Admin section and added a name mapping for temp.mysite.com.The site has two more subdomains.
I configured the DNS with a "A Record" type as follow:

Host Name: temp.mysite.com
IP Address: IP address of main domain

I visited the subdomain and I get: "Directory Listing Denied"!
Please note that main site is working fine. My host control panel is Parallels Helm v4 and it has a DNS Zone Editor which allow 4 type of records (A record,CName,MX,TXT) to be added.

Did I do anything wrong?
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thank you

Re: Help - Multiple installation based on Host Names

Hi,

More than likely your subdomain is not pointing to your mojoPortal website. You will have to login to your control panel and check the domains that are assigned to that site. Once the domain is assigned to the mojoPortal site, everything should work properly.

Re: Help - Multiple installation based on Host Names

Your DNS setup sounds right, but I think your subdomains are not pointing to the same virtual folder as the main domain (a prerequisite for hostname-based multiple sites). Check your control panel and see if will allow you to specify that configuration. If you must have each subdomain pointing to a separate folder, you will have to configure for multiple sites based on folder names, rather than based on hostname.

Re: Help - Multiple installation based on Host Names

I finally forced to use folder based installation for my child site. The hosting company does not support host headers.

Thank you
