child site using host mappings, are they supposed to look like clones of their masters?

child site using host mappings, are they supposed to look like clones of their masters?

Hi folks,

I'm running into a bit of an issue here while trying to create a download page for my web site on a separt subdomain using the host mappings method of having multiple sites.  I'm not sure if Firefox just seemed to cop out when I did it originally, but what seems to be happening is that the new site is basically a clone of its master.  Is that supposed to happen, because if it is, then i've got to know how to clear what's there so that I can use the second site for what I want it to actually be used for.  I've went over your documentation on this subject and it doesn't look like I'm missing anything.  Fill me in.  Thanks.

Re: child site using host mappings, are they supposed to look like clones of their masters?

it does not clone the master site when creating new sites. If you enter the host name and you see the master site that means the host name mapping isn't working. any host names that are not mapped correctly will resolve to the master site so you are seeing the master site not the child site.

you should double check that you assigned the host name correctly to the child site and did not accidently assign it to the master site.
