Editing Skins and the Master Layout...

Hello!

First, I love the idea of MojoPortal!  It is lightweight and relatively straightforward.  I had a good time getting it installed as well, which is a plus!

I'm having a problem now with setting up my design.  I am a designer first and then a programmer second.  I've got it all cut up and would like to only use MojoPortal for my main content section and my footer.  I'm not sure this is possible, but my site is setup with a top header, main top navigation menu (Static), then a large whitespace in the middle for content, then the footer.  So, pretty much top, middle, footer.

I've found a skin that looks pretty decent and am trying to edit it, however regardless of the changes I make to the skins Master Layout file, it doesn't change anything.  For example, I tried wrapping my design and putting all of the Mojo content in the file inside my central content area of my design.  Yet, none of my images, formatting, anything is showing up.

Any help is appreciated!  Thanks!

Re: Editing Skins and the Master Layout...

FYI

You have to be in the /data/sites/[site#]/skins folder....=)

So, I'm good now!

Re: Editing Skins and the Master Layout...

Hi,

You can find additional documentation on skinning starting at this page.

Hope it helps,

Re: Editing Skins and the Master Layout...

Hey Joe,

Yeah, I had just read that page and read it incorrectly.  I didn't notice the path I was using was wrong.  =)

Things are better now!  My main header though is strangely spaced, it is all images and there are two images that are next to each other in two cells, before they are right up against each other, after adding this to the Mojo skin though, there is a gap between them.  Any thoughts there?

Re: Editing Skins and the Master Layout...

Just ran into something else...I remembered that I was getting rid of those two images and replacing them with a flash movie that is the width of the cell...so I've got that in there and it fits good.  However...the flash movie is a menu and calls it's links from an XML file in the same folder as the SWF movie.

Hm...Sorry.  It submitted before I wanted it to.

Anyways, the menu looks good, but it isn't loading the XML.  Any ideas?

Re: Editing Css of Master Layout...

I’m trying to   change css of   <div class="art-Sheet-body"> in layout master of skin  artisteer-swirly1 .

I have changed the  from .art-Sheet-body{  padding: 8px;}to .art-Sheet-body{ padding: 15px;} in style.css file. But it doesn’t work. It still shows “csshandle: art-Sheet-body{  padding: 8px;}”
What I have tried are:
I have changed order of the style.css in style.config.
Changed <div class="art-Sheet-body"> to <div class="art-Sheet-bodyxxxx"> and add .art-Sheet-bodyxxx{  padding: 15px;} to style.css.
Please help me out. Thanks
