Display PDF files based on dynamic image and associated link

I would like to store some image files into database together with links to PDF files. Upon user click, it should open up in a PDF viewer within browser. How to accomplish this task?

Is it possible to leverage guestbook related tutorial and build various layers to do? or there is an easy way to accomplish this task.

Thanks in advance,

Rajan
