File security?

File security?

Hi!

Im using the file module on some of my pages and I have set so only specific users with a certen roll can access the files (see/download). Is this secure? It will not be possible for anyone from the outside to get these files even if they get a direct link to the file?

Hi,

The Shared Files feature stores files on disk using a .config extension which is protected by ASP.NET so even if someone knew the name and location of the file it will not be served if requested by url.
