Forums module: friendly urls in post

Hello.

I would like to ask if there is a way to enable friendly urls in the forum posts. I haven't found any way yet.

If it is not supported, i would like to know if it will be supported at some point.

thanks !

Re: Forums module: friendly urls in post

I have no near term plans to add friendly urls to the forums. It might happen some day but it is not a priority.

Re: Forums module: friendly urls in post

Well the Forums could easily be visually updated and this is very much needed. Their appearance looks very old.

For example

Thanks

Re: Forums module: friendly urls in post

Hello,

The appearance of the forums is related to skinning. I agree the included skins do not have a wide variety of forum styles but they are just examples. The forums are very skinnable.

Have you tried skinning the forums and not been successful? If so, I would be glad to help, just tell me what issues you have or had.

Thanks,
Joe D.

Re: Forums module: friendly urls in post

Hi,

Well, I took a closer look at the site you referenced and noticed it is a mojoPortal site. The forums there are styled very nicely and are a great example of the versatility of the mojoPortal skinning engine.

So now I think you are referring to styling the forums here on the mojoPortal site. Is that correct?

Thanks,
Joe D.

Re: Forums module: friendly urls in post

Excuse me for not always being able to express correctly, English is not my native language, Greek is.

What you will read below is just my opinion to get Mojo even better. Not a complain, not a request. I do know that if i need something custom, i will have to make it myself or pay for it.

--

I consider the forums module essential for a portal. I could start writing what is missing from Mojo forums module, but i guess you already know. It is a basic forum module. No problem with that.

So i was thinking why not making Mojo just better looking. More sexy. More appealing to the webmasters and to the visitors. So i provided a link above from a Mojo website i found, as an example on how MUCH BETTER the forums would look with a small skin or css changes. As a default.

A year ago i tried Mojo and while i liked it a lot, the skining puzzled me. I was the first to write and request support for Artisteer. Hopefully it is now supported. I haven't seen any good looking skin from Artisteer yet, but this is an other story.

I hope you understand what i try to say. Maybe also create a good default skin with better looking for the Blog, Gallery, Forums module.

Thanks !
