Form Wizard Pro token usage

Joe,

We just purchased Form Wizard Pro at work yesterday. The product is great, but I've run into a tiny issue. I'm guessing this feature is not in the module, and if it is, I haven't found anything explaining how to do it.

What I'm trying to accomplish is create a form that automatically pulls the user's profile information on load (e.g. name, email, phone, any custom fields we created in the profile). Perhaps it is something I missed, or needs to be setup in the configuration, but I can't find how to do this.

The alternative at this point is to have my .NET developer program something, but I'd rather not spend his time on this if I can figure it out. Is there any way to do this out of the box? We're using this portal for some customers and I want our help desk to be able to create forms which would save my time, our developer's time, as well as the customer's time by filling out their request for them with the basic fields. I've done a bunch of DNN development and this is implemented in their Form & List module (formerly UDT), if you need to reference what I mean.

By the way, we're just up the road from you in Mooresville. Love the product, as does everyone else at my work, including our management team. Also, MP is probably 3-4x faster than DNN on the same server in my experience. I'm running both of an XP Pro machine for testing (an old DNN portal I created for our sales staff) and MP is much faster.

Thanks in advance, Jesse Bott (Greatwide Truckload Management)

Re: Form Wizard Pro token usage

Hi Jesse,

You are right that there is no feature in Form Wizard Pro to pre-populate form fields based on the user profile, to do that you would have to implement a custom developed form.

If the user is authenticated when he fills out the form, we do capture the UserGuid in sts_WebFormResponseSet so there is a way to track it back to a specific user after the fact in some cases but it has no mechanism for pre-populating the form at this point.

I've added this as a wish list item in my project tracker so I don't forget about it. I will ponder it but not promising anything on it for now.

Best,

Joe
