Limiting Available Features by Roles

Hi Joe,

I have upgraded one of my sites to the latest version primarily to use this facility.

The facility itself works great but I was wondering whether it would be possible to either present the permissions for features in a grid with features/user roles so that multiple features can quickly be turned on and off on the same screen or whether this information was stored with the specific module or an external file - if its an external file it could be copied between multiple website very quickly. If neither of these are particularly easy to do then the way it works at the moment is still pretty quick :-)

The reason being that as a relatively new mojoportal user I am still getting to grips with the ins and outs of many of the available features myself and I don't want to release them to my clients if I am not fully ready to support them, the other reason is that we are going to be offering some very low cost CMS sites based on mojoportal and wish to limit the feature set as a result of this.

Hi Andrew,

I agree with you the implementation could be nicer and eventually I may get to that. But its a matter of there are many desirable things to work on, the current implementation was easy low hanging fruit to implement that allowed me to deliver it quickly and move on to other things I need to work on. I could have postponed it until I have more time to do a nicer solution but it seemed better to go ahead and implement the simple solution. Given that I have a large and ambitious to do list and this feature does currently provide a solution, it doesn't rank high on my priority list at the moment to put in the time it would take for a nicer solution for a solved problem compared to all the other unsolved things I need to work on.

The current implementation works great which is the main thing, merely a suggestion for a 'one day' list! wink
