Additional subdirectory in url

Having a problem with an additional subdirectory in my URL. I have setup mojoPortal in a subdirectory on my hosted server. I have 2 websites, one using the root directory the 2nd using a subdirectory contained within the first. When I click on a link in mojoPortal it adds the subdirectory name to the URL. Example: When I click the signin link…

  • wwwroot
  • <dir>
  • <dir>
  • tour->this is where mojoPortal is installed

the link maps to http://www.mysite.com/tours/Secure/Login.aspx when it should map to ... http://www.mysite.com/Secure/Login.aspx

When I manually put in http://www.mysite.com/Secure/Login.aspx it works fine.

BTW... let me know if you need the Tech Stack, but since this is a problem I probably caused my self I didn't think you'd need it.

Re: Additional subdirectory in url

Update: I think I missed something.... domain name 1 maps to the root of the site... domain name 2 maps to a subdirectory on that site

so www.mydomain1.com maps to /

www.mydomain2.com maps to /tours/

Re: Additional subdirectory in url

Hi,

mojoPortal can run as a root site or it can run in a folder 1 level below root.

It cannot run in a folder and pretend to be a root site. That is just some bogus url forwarding or some feature of your host (my guess is GoDaddy) that tries to make this possible but it is not going to work with mojoPortal. mojoPortal knows it is running in a folder beneath root not in root and the trick by the host isn't going to fool it into thinking otherwise.

Best,

Joe

Re: Additional subdirectory in url

Hi Joe,

Yeah... I kind of thought that... I was looking into the code and it appears that there is no way of "faking out" mojoPortal (Good thing). I was just finishing an email to my hosting company (readyhosting) asking if they will make that subdirectory a site instead. That should solve the problem... until the next time.

I appreciate your response... and thank you for the great code. This thing rocks! and is gonna save me a boat load of time.
