Features in mojoPortal are self contained and do not talk to other features. Some things can be done if one feature exposes a feed then the feed manager can consume the feed and it looks like somewhat like a blog. People often use the Feed Manager to show most recent blog posts on the home page. The Feed Manager can also render as a calendar (there is a setting for it).

Also my add on product Event Calendar Pro exposes a feed that can also be consumed in a Feed Manager instance.
