I figured out the script setup error with Default.aspx, and now it's just SQL server giving me troubles

Hi folks,

How stupid I was!  I figured out that the remaining issue I was having after the strange server error was caused by nothing more than by a lack of a working MSSQL database!  But my real question is, how exactly do you install SQL server express 2008 on a windows 7 machine?  It was installed by the visual studio express products that I had installed over the months and year, and now I just need a hand firstly getting the studio manager installed so that I can actually manipulate the database, and then a hand configuring the backend services and stuff that go with it.  Further guidance on this would be great.  Thanks.

Regards,

Katherine

Hi Katherine,

It can be tricky getting all the tools installed and setup especially if there are multiple versions of Sql Express installed.

If there was a way I could help via desktop sharing I'd be glad to try and help you get things setup. I could probably get a WebEx meeting setup with you through my friend who runs the Yamisee service, but I'm not sure how accessible the meeting/desktop sharing software is in terms of use with a screen reader. Have you ever used WebEx or any other desktop sharing/meeting software before?

Best,

Joe

Re: I figured out the script setup error with Default.aspx, and now it's just SQL server giving me troubles

I've usedTeem viewer with Skype for communication while the session was happening, but when my not-so-good friend now (The one I told you about earlier who was criticizing me for using MS technologies), started being creepy and logging into my computer and router and changing settings without explaining himself and never mind asking my permission, I stopped using this software type.  I have also used LogMeIn from the installation basis, but since that is not accessible with JAWS and others due to it's lack of Java Swing classes, only the one remoting in could control it.  That is my history of using remote access software.  And though I can't host my own site on my own server right now due to barriers with my ISP, I'd still like to install all the stuff for it so that when the time comes where I do have liberty of hosting the site myself, I'll already know how to do it, and my little community will be more honorable.  Let me know what you think.  And believe me, I am very glad to try out a piece of new software if that would help you with this stuff, and again, I really appreciate your continued assistance and I apologize for being a total pain.  just let me know what needs to be done next, and I shall do it as promptly as I can.

Thanks a lot,

Katherine
