Visual Studio FormFile.designer.cs troubeshooting

In the video http://www.mojoportal.com/dev-series-4-hello-web.aspx

Joe had a pb with a TitleControl that wasn't correctley declared by VS 2008.

This pb occured sometime in webapplication projects when VS looses its synchronisation beetween the .aspx file and the .designer.cs file.

Here is a simple solution for such case that does not require to edit any code…

  1. Delete the FormFileThatDontCompile.designer.cs from the projet
  2. see the contextual menu of FormFileThatDontCompile.aspx : a new entry just below ‘set as start page’ appears saying something like ‘convert to web application’ (not sure about translation because my Visual Studio is in french)
  3. use this command to regenerate a new .designer.cs file
  4. compile again : it should work

Best,

Thomas
