Members Search

I am having a bit of a issue with how the members list search works, my members are all Doctors so they have DR. before there name. Example: "Dr. Edward Smith" When I search for just Edward Smith the search shows nothing. Is there anyway I can change this so it will show all Edwards without having to put "Dr Edward Smith" . Or Maybee I just know the Doctors last name and would like to find him by this.
