Separating public and secured pages\menu

Hi,

Here is what we are trying to accomplish.

First the site contains 2 parts: 1 publicly viewable and other part is only for secured logged in users. The kicker is, for most contents, they maintain their own, except for blogs and calendar events, which can be viewed in either public or secured areas. By saying that, both parts will have their own menu setting, again except for blogs and calendar events, even the page\menu title could be the same, content might be different. Such as a main menu item named “Products”, it could be really brief on the public site with the product list. However, on the secured site, there could be more detail about each products, prices, pics, and additional links. The last requirement will there might be some menu items on the public part should never be accessable from the secured site.

Any help will be great and thanks in advance.

Re: Separating public and secured pages\menu

If you specify roles in page settings for "Roles That Can View This Page" and "Roles That Can Edit" and "Roles That Can Create Child pages" you can control access and visibility of pages in your site. The menu and site map and search results already filter correctly based on the users roles.

Hope it helps,

Joe
