Hiding side navigation and multiple blog instance settings

Hi there,

I am testing mojoPortal for the first time. I have two questions:

1. How can I hide the side navigation menu on some pages, for example, I don't really want it displayed on the home page. I have had a look on the page settings but can't seem to find an option for this.

2. I am able to add multiple instances of the same blog to different pages. What I would like to do is have a main blog page but then show the 5 latest blog posts on the home page. Currently, when I change the settings of the blog feature on the home page to only show 5 entries, this updates all instances of the blog. How can I achieve the above?

Many thanks,

Ben

Re: Hiding side navigation and multiple blog instance settings

Okay I have answered my first question - I just need to not set the home page as the parent page for any other pages. This way the menu is not displayed.

So just question 2 remains...

Thanks,

Ben

Re: Hiding side navigation and multiple blog instance settings

Hi,

Create your blog page and add an instance of Blog feature to the page. Blog must be only on a single page, it cannot be used on multiple pages because it creates friendly urls that hide real urls with pageid parameter and this must be consistent for all blog posts within the specific blog.

On your home page add an instance of FeedManager and in Feed Manager add the feed for the Blog and set it to show only 5 items per feed in settings.

Note: The blog feed url will not work at all until there is at least 1 post in the blog.

Hope it helps,

Joe
