Please weigh in oin this blog post

Hi All,

If any of you feel as I do that mojoPortal is the most user friendly CMS especially among .NET solutions, feel free to weigh in on the comments at this blog post.

http://www.danielbardi.com/blog/post/2009/10/23/mojoPortal-CMS-Can-Be-Confusing-For-New-Users.aspx

The author, who obviously is affiliated with Umbraco and therefore his neutrality is suspect, seems to think mojoPortal is confusing to new users, a conclusion that seems  extremely odd to me especially if Umbraco is the baseline he is comparing against. I'd especially be interested in comments on that post from users who have tried both mojoPortal and Umbraco.

Best,

Joe

Re: Please weigh in oin this blog post

Joe,

I went to post on his blog and found that comments are closed - quite convenient since I think he opened a can of worms with his critique.

You know before I tried MP I tried Dot Net Nuke... what a frikkin disaster that thing is. I had so much trouble installing it, the install file made an absolute mess of my database, and the grouchy guys in their forum do a good job at talking down to you. Finally I gave up... disheartened.

Then I tried MP and it was so smooth with the install I thought I must have done something wrong... I installed it locally and played around with it for a couple of days, getting the design how I wanted it. Then I installed it "over" my existing live web site and was prepared for the worst, thinking at a minimum it would take at least a couple of days of pulling my hair out to get working properly.

But you know what, it worked immediately.

I'm a big fan of your work. Nice job!

Re: Please weigh in oin this blog post

Hi Jason,

That post was over 6 months ago so it does not surprise me that it is closed for comments, we don't need to re-open that discussion. I appreciate your support though.

The strange thing is that there used to be a bunch of replies on this forum thread but it seems they were deleted somehow over time.

Best,

Joe

Oh, I figured it out, there is another thread for the same topic in the developer forum, it still has the replies.

Best,

Joe
