Calendar Pro Categorize Events

On Calendar Pro, it would be nice to have the ability to categorize events. Thus, the end-user would be able to filter displayed events quickly by selecting what categories to display at a time. -- Derek

Re: Calendar Pro Categorize Events

Hi Derek,

This is coming in the future. The plan is to build categories into the core of mojoPortal so the functionality can be re-used across features rather than need to be implemented over and over in each feature. We need categories in the WebStore feature also for one example.

Best,

Joe

Re: Calendar Pro Categorize Events

Adding categories across the board sounds good.

A couple of other items for Calendar Pro to consider:

1) For the All Day check box, can it work similar to Outlook, where the item is simply listed at the top of the calendar day column and doesn't necessarily expand down the complete day timeframe. You can always do a complete day time frame with the To-From time fields. Very convenient in labeling days with certain information but not making it look like an actual event at a certain time.

2) Option for managing registrations but not tying it to a commerce component.

Thanks again. -- Derek

Re: Calendar Pro Categorize Events

You should already be able to take reservations without commerce if you make the price 0.

I will look into the idea about dayview/weekview but not sure how feasible because its a 3rd party control and designed to use the start and end time. Not ruling it out just need to investigate how difficult it would be. Might be a way to do that only for all day events.

Best,

Joe

Re: Calendar Pro Categorize Events

The category would be a definite plus. I think another thing that would add to the functionality would being able to query by year, past present or future events along with a category from the list view. I don't know how difficult it would be to add subcategories but as long as you have a wish list going.
