Custom skinning

Hi all,

Sorry of this seems like a lazy question, I know there is plenty of good information on skinning here on the site.

I Know next to nothing about CSS development (and not a great deal about html)

I'm trying to develop a site very cheaply, so I want to try and hire an off shore css developer to make a custom MP skin for my site.

1. So I just wanted to know is Custom Skin development of  particularly complicated? (Im looking for something like:  http://www.opendesigns.org/preview/?template=2389 ) or it shouldn't be a problem for a skilled developer (or should i say designer)

2. What skills should I be looking for in a developer CSS, HTML aything else?

3. How long would a custom skin take to create - I understand this is relative to the complexity, and skill. but just a very rough idea would be extremely helpful

thanks in advance

Lex

Re: Custom skinning

Are you a programmer? have you tried installing mojoportal yourself?

First you need to find a designer who'll work to your budget

Then you need to find a front end programmer who'll turn the designs into reality.

Its not complicated to reskin mojoportal, but it does depend whether the designer has designed your site with mojoportal in mind, a front end developer shouldnt have too much trouble.

I could reskin a site in an evening, for someone who has no mojoportal experience its hard to say, how long is a piece of string, just when you think you've reskinned the entire site, you realise you forgot to style a error message or a popup window lol.

I work with offshore teams every day, and we mostly use them for programming as they take instructions well, and use designers in our country due to cultural differences.
