Deleting one instance don't effects on other module instances.

Hi Joe

We can publish many instance of a module on site page in the Site Administration->Content Management . But when we delete one instance of them from one page all other instance on another pages will be delete including original instance. I think this is better that we can delete module instances one by one. I mean deleting one instance don't effects on other module instances  .

Best

Asad.

Hi Asad,

The Content Manager is the only place where you can delete all instances of a module, it was designed to do that.

If you want to delete it from a single page just visit the page then click the pencil to get to page layout and you can delete it there without deleting the actual module.

Hope it helps,

Joe

Hi Joe,

When I delete an instance on a page via module instance settings delete button (gears icon on module instance ->delete button) , the actual module delete too. I Update my working copy today.

Ok, I mispoke, you can also delete a module from the module settings page. But understand this, if you want to remove it from a single page then you can un-publish it from /Admin/ContentManager.aspx using the grid, or delete it completely using the delete button (same as delete button from module settings). Un-publish is the same as deleting it from a page using PageLayout.aspx, ie deleting it from the page in PageLayout.aspx is the same as un-publishing it from the page in content manager, it does not delete the module instance. But the delete button in module settings or the delete button in content manager can completely delete a module instance.

Hope it helps,

Joe
