News module or extension of current cms

Firstly i'd like to say what bl**dy amazing cms, great work! I was looking for a cms and this is so easy to use, and has some great feature, i'm really impressed!! Thanks!

I have a couple of questions

I've made a news section similar to this site, with the article links showing in a treeview under the years links on the left side - easy no probs

http://www.sabre.mod.uk/output/Page172.asp

What i'd like to do now, is have a small news feed on my homepage that shows the top 5 news feeds. Almost like a sitemap that specifically points to pages under 2009.

is this easy to do? just a few pointers would get me started, or might be an idea for a new module.

Also is it possible to change a default setting on the module titles, for my purpose id rather have them switched off by default, instead of having to go to each htmlmodule setting and turn the title off when i create one. Its just a small thing, but would save a lot of time when creating a new site.

Thanks again for a excellent cms

Tim
