Folders instead of pages

Hi,

little question, since I have this problem now for one of my customers.

My customer would like to have some main menu items, but some of them are more like a folder than a page.
So f.i. you have : home - machines - products - ...
But machines isn't really a page, but a folder. And in that folder there are more pages.
A click on the menu item should go to the first item. Does this exist and didn't I find it how to do it?
Or can this be made in the future?

Thx
Stef

Re: Folders instead of pages

In the future I may add an "Is Clickable" property to a page so it can be just a container, but currently all pages are clickable. What I do on container pages is enable "Show Child Pages Site Map", so if the user clicks it they just get a menu of child pages. To me this is actually friendlier than having it not clickable.

For example, the Documentation page has not content system features on it, but is just a container page that shows its Child Pages like a site map because I checked "Show Child Pages Site Map" in the page settings.

Best,

Joe

Re: Folders instead of pages

Ok Joe, but you don't have a submenu in your skin.
If you have a skin that automatically add a submenu on the left, you have double content.

Because I have tried several things, I came to a "wrong" solution but it works. Not sure if the search engines would love the solution.
I have added a 301 record that goes from the "folder" page to the first item, so there is a redirect. But that is not the good way.
Perhaps I will try this and see what google says in the webmaster tools.

But I guess this would be a great feature to have.
