Re: Changing the Skin of my website

There are about 30 skins included. You can set the skin from (Key icon) Administration Menu > Site Settings

Hope it helps,

Joe

Re: Changing the Skin of my website

When does the change take effect?

I am just starting to play with the portal, and I found the setting, but it does not seem to have any effect.  I am dev'ing in vs 2008, and running the site under the vs web server...

I can login as admin, go to site settings and pick a new skin, but nothing visually changes.  I can change title and that takes, but no color/style/layout changes occur.  Is there another step I need to take?

Re: Changing the Skin of my website

Hi,

It should take place immediately.

I would verify that the skin files exist for the site, during setup it should have copied all the folders and files from /Data/skins into /Data/Sites/[SiteID]/skins, typically SiteID will be 1

I would also look in the log for any clues. You can use the Web UI from Administratioon Menu > System Log, or access the file directly at /Data/currentlog.config

The newest errors are at the bottom. There will normally be errors logged during setup, sometimes it best to clear the log then change the skin then see if any problem was logged.

Hope it helps,

Joe

Re: Changing the Skin of my website

I am wondering whether you can help.

I am able to change the skin, and it stays on whatever skin I select, but as soon as I click on "sign-in" it changes back to the default. Is this normal behaviour, or should it stay once I set it ?

Thanks,

Ali

Am running the 2.2.7.8 vrsion in medium trust mode on ASP 2.0

Re: Changing the Skin of my website

Actually, further to my last post, it seems to be on a timer. After about a minute, it seems to revert to a default skin - is there some setting I am missing somewhere?

Thanks,

Ali
