Features of mojoPortal's forums

I have some questions about the forum functionality, since the documentation doesn't seem to be finished:

1. Does the system include moderating functionality?

2. Does the system offer forum and\or knowledge base functionality, allowing for administrators to define forums, moderate forums, etc. for end users?

3. Describe the system’s functionality for Email to Discussion. For example, can messages be emailed to the system so that they automatically appear in community discussions?

Thanks!

Re: Features of mojoPortal's forums

Hi,

Its not as full featured as many forums out there, its very simple and basic.

There is no moderation in the sense of reviewing posts before they are visible, but admins can edit or delete any post or move it from one thread to another.

Admins can define as many forums within a forum group as you like and you can create different instances of forum groups on different pages or the same page.

Users can subscribe at the forum level or thread level for email notification.

It does not have the ability to post to the forums via email.

Hope it helps,

Joe

Re: Features of mojoPortal's forums

Hi, my English writing its not so good.
I will like to know how to close a discussion on a Forum, so the users can only read the prior publications but can not add any more posts.
Thanks,

Re: Features of mojoPortal's forums

Sorry but currently we don't have a feature to close a thread, probably at some point we will implement this.

Best,

Joe

Re: Features of mojoPortal's forums

You should not allow untrusted users to post images as it is a security risk for cross site scripting.

Currently, only Admins can upload/post images in the forums. However, I just modified it so that in the next release it will be possible for anyone in the roles defined in the RoleThatCanUploadAndBrowse setting in Web.config to give you a little more flexibility.

Users who are logged in with permissions will see the full toolbar with the image browser/uploader, but untrusted users continue to see a less powerful toolbar.

Hope it helps,

Joe
