2.2.7.7 / 2.2.7.8

Hi Joe,

I upgraded to 2.2.7.7 yesterday (or so I thought). Today I saw the article about changes to skins, so I went to implement the required changes to my custom skin. However I couldn't find any style.config files in any of the skins. I downloaded the upgrade from the Novell page, was I actually downloading a previous version ?

I notice today that a new version, 2.2.7.8 is now on Novell.

What are the changes in this release?
Thanks

Leah

Re: 2.2.7.7 / 2.2.7.8

Hi Leah,

I got started on uploading the new release yesterday but it was my Father's birthday and I didn't get to upload to Codeplex and make the release announcement until this morning.

The document about skinning changes was put up before the release in a rare case of proactive documentation ;-D

Best,

Joe

Re: 2.2.7.7 / 2.2.7.8

Aah I see- actually looking back, if I'd been more eagle eyed I would have spotted that it referred to 2.2.7.8 not 2.2.7.7.

Happy Birthday to your Dad :-)

Re: 2.2.7.7 / 2.2.7.8

Hi Joe,

Bit confused as to how the combined skins work..

I just downloaded / upgraded to 2.2.7.9 (from 7.7)

In each of the skin folders I still see a large number of .css files.

Do I have to run some process in order to combine them? I thought the existing skins were already combined?

Thanks as always..

Leah

Re: 2.2.7.7 / 2.2.7.8

The style.config file is a list of them in the correct sequence for combining them. You can add additional css files to the list.

Best,

Joe

Re: 2.2.7.7 / 2.2.7.8

hi, sorry, it's still not clear to me. how do the files physically combine, does it happen when you first use one of the skins?

Either way I followed the instructions and my styling has been lost completely, so I'm going to revert back for now. Assuming there's no harm in keeping the stylesheets as they were..

Re: 2.2.7.7 / 2.2.7.8

Yes, we put the url to the CssHandler.ashx file in the header where the css files used to go. On the first request it combines the css files listed in style.config, minifies the result and caches it. Its also cached by the browser. I put some additional tips in this thread for someone upgrading from a very old version. css background images need to be quoted correctly with single quotes within the css files.

Hope it helps,

Joe
