Visual Studio Find and Replace: So Slow.

Hi,

When searching for things in the Mojoportal source, the Visual Studio Find and Replace function takes a very long time to come up with matches.

Has anyone come up with a better soultion for finding matches in the Mojoportal source?

Thanks,

Kenny

Re: Visual Studio Find and Replace: So Slow.

I'm finding VS 2008 is slow to do almost everyting these days. First I blamed it on Vista but I went back to XP and it seemed a little better for a while but now its painful slow for everything. There is SP1 for VS 2008 but it is still in beta so I don't want to install it on my production development machine. Its supposed to have some performance improvement fixes though. I'm finally came to the conclusion that my 2 year old machine is just not good enough anymore so I ordered a new machine with 8GB of RAM, 10K RPM drives, and 64bit Vista so it can actually use that extra RAM. The machine is supposed to come in next week. I sure hope it gives me a more responsive dev environment. I've been feeling for about a year now that my current machine is getting in my way all the time. I'm always waiting for it to finish doing things before I can do my work. In short, I feel your pain.

Best,

Joe
