Re: Form Generator

Hi,

I agree it would be a very useful feature. My question to you is would you be willing to pay for a feature like this if it was available and paying for it would help the project?

I am working on my first premium feature for sale right now and may make a Form Generator as my second feature.

On a side note, in case you haven't seen this, heres a link to a post in the google docs blog that shows how it is possible to make web forms against a spreadsheet in google docs and embed it in a web page. Nice little video in the post shows it step by step. Its pretty cool but not sure its the ideal solution for every situation.

Best,

Joe

Re: Form Generator

Glad to hear it. I will plan on building this next and hope to have it available sometime in July.

Best,

Re: Form Generator

Our company has developed a module called FlexForm that has been the single most used module that we have created. It allows the administrator of the website to add, remove, rearrange the order of fields etc. It supports combo boxes, multi lines etc.

I am glad to hear you are proceeding with eCommerce for premium modules. As stated before I would be willing to 1) pay you (Joe)to review this module (and possibly future modules) and make the necessary changes to allow the integration into the base mojoPortal portal 2) willing to give commissions on the sale of our module.

Joe, have you given further though on letting 3rd party users sell modules through your site?

Re: Form Generator

Joe, I think it would be great if third party modules could be sold or offered, I think it would advance the desirability of mojoPortal which would increase the number of users using it and boost community input and support.

Re: Form Generator

I definitely want to foster an ecosystem around mojoPortal. At a minimum I am willing to link to other sites that sell products or value added consulting on top of mojoPortal. We already have a list started on the Consulting page, and I could/would create a Market Place page in the Community section of the site to list and link to mojoPortal related products for sale on other sites.

As far as selling right here on this site in the mojoPortal store, it becomes more of a partner situation and for the moment I'm taking this on a case by case basis but am definitely interested in discussing partnership opportunities. There are a number of issues to consider and work out including logistical issues like who's ecommerce account the payments flow through, how to make it transparent to both parties when sales occur, how to fairly share the revenue, who will handle the support, how much support will actually be needed, who will produce documentation and/or training materials, etc, etc. All these issues have to be worked out in a way that makes all parties feel its a win win situation.

Todd,

You and I have discussed some of this before and maybe we should discuss it further (we can schedule another call today or tomorrow sometime if you'd like). I'm open to any of the possibilities. I could link to your site and you could sell it there or we can figure out a partnership arrangement to sell it here.

Best,

Joe

Re: Form Generator

Sounds good, I will arrange a phone call time via email.

As far as this form creation tool is concerned… if this is something you want to develop and sell you will not hear me complain. You have spent an incredible amount of time on this project and deserve to make money on premium modules. If you are looking for partnerships on 3rd party modules, this one may be a good to start off with.

I think you really should consider selling all the modules through your site and take a higher commission. Even though we create e-commerce websites, the likelihood of us creating a site just to sell a few modules is not very high. Creating modules is second nature to you, but I/We would need some direction from you on the best way to package these modules and help mojo-administrators get them installed. Are we talking, scripts to create database tables, copy DLLs, source code etc? I don’t even know where to begin.

Re: Form Generator

Form Wizard Pro is on sale now and makes it easy to add custom forms to mojoPortal.
