Performance of mojoportal as an intranet

Hi Joe,

I am planning on using mojoPortal as the single portal platform for our intranet. I would like to know if it is capable of handling the number of users hitting the site each day. We have about 300 staff and get around 1500 to 4000 page views a month. Is mojoportal capable of handling this amount of traffic without any problems?

The harware that will be running the site is P4 3.Ghz with 2GB of RAM and 63 GB of free space. This is an Intranet and not open the public as you can imagine so only LDAP authenticated staff can login. The database is an SQL Server with similar config.

What do you think?

Thanks.

Re: Performance of mojoportal as an intranet

Hi Dominique,

Yes, it does ! And mutch more can it do I believe thus I'm a newbie in mojoPortal. If you have a dedicate server for SQL Server and another one for mojoPortal, then you can have mutch more user and more and more pages viewed a month. Because of it's architecture, it seems to be the "Speedy Gonzales" in the market as it win the CMS AWARDS '07.

Guillaume.

Re: Performance of mojoportal as an intranet

Hi Dominique,

Yes, of course, what you describe is really not many users and not much traffic and the machine sounds reasonable. I expect you will not have trouble at all in terms of supporting the expected load.

Best,

Joe

Re: Performance of mojoportal as an intranet

I've been using a really old version of mojoportal 1.0.1 from April 2006 in a Linux/mysql configuration for 2 years now as an intranet for 3 locations of about 250 users.

It has never experienced a single problem in that time and hasn't had a problem with the load.   The server is also hosting 3 other websites and is only a low end P4 with 512mb memory and an older IDE hard disk.

I don't think you will have any problems at all.

Great. Thanks everyone for your feedback.

I appreciate it. I will proceed with using mojoPortal for the intranet!
