Parser Error: Assembly System.Web.Extensions not found

Hello,

I'm trying to install mojoPortal on Debian Lenny with Mono. I think I installed all needed dependencies as  deb-package. But I'm getting this error:

Server Error in '/' Application
Parser Error

Description: Error parsing a resource required to service this request. Review your source file and modify it to fix this error.

Error message:

Assembly System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35 not found

So from where do I get this file?

bye

Sebastian

Re: Parser Error: Assembly System.Web.Extensions not found

Hi,

The reply about the _libs folder is incorrect, the _libs folder is only included in the source code not in pre-compiled releases and also that is the windows version of the dll and it will not work on Mono.

On Debian you need the Mono version of this dll and it should already be there in the GAC if you have the newest version of Mono.

What version of Mono are you running?

Joe

Re: Parser Error: Assembly System.Web.Extensions not found

You need Mono 1.9 for the current release of mojoPortal to work.

Hope it helps,

Joe

Re: Parser Error: Assembly System.Web.Extensions not found

I upgraded the packages from debian testing to debian unstable:

libapache2-mod-mono 1.2.4-1
libmono-accessibility2.0-cil 1.2.6+dfsg-6
libmono-corlib1.0-cil 1.9+dfsg-3
libmono-corlib2.0-cil 1.9+dfsg-3
libmono-data-tds2.0-cil 1.9+dfsg-3
libmono-i18n1.0-cil 1.9+dfsg-3
libmono-i18n2.0-cil 1.9+dfsg-3
libmono-mozilla0.1-cil 1.2.6+dfsg-6
libmono-mozilla0.2-cil 1.9+dfsg-3
libmono-security2.0-cil 1.9+dfsg-3
libmono-sharpzip2.84-cil 1.9+dfsg-3
libmono-sqlite2.0-cil 1.9+dfsg-3
libmono-system-data2.0-cil 1.9+dfsg-3
libmono-system-web2.0-cil 1.9+dfsg-3
libmono-system2.0-cil 1.9+dfsg-3
libmono-winforms2.0-cil 1.9+dfsg-3
libmono0 1.9+dfsg-3
libmono2.0-cil 1.9+dfsg-3
mono-apache-server2 1.2.4-1.1
mono-common 1.9+dfsg-3
mono-gac 1.9+dfsg-3
mono-gmcs 1.9+dfsg-3
mono-jit 1.9+dfsg-3
mono-runtime 1.9+dfsg-3
mono-xsp2-base 1.2.4-1.1

But the error still remains. I tried to find a packages in debian unstable, that contains this file. But I have no luck. So maybe I have to compile mono from source.

bye

Re: Parser Error: Assembly System.Web.Extensions not found

I found an interesting article about my problem: blog.drinsama.de/erich/en/linux/2008040801-licensing-software.html

So I think this dll will never be in the official debian packages.
